The gardens are complete with statues, green hedges, fountains and a large maze, and every bit beautiful. A row of trees stand tall either side of a main pathway down the middle, separating the two sides and reaching a central stair case at the end. We wandered through the left side of the gardens and made our way up to the top via a winding path. Purposely terraced to reveal views of the city, and in some parts completely covered, it felt a little bit like walking through a lush rainforest. The path joins up with a break in the central staircase. You can take the remainder of the stairs up or continue on the path to a small spiral staircase to the top, for even greater views out over Verona.
